Wadley Council approves overtime pay

At last week’s Wadley Town Council meeting, the council approved overtime payment for the town’s police chief. The chief had worked a large number of overtime hours due to the shortage of officers. Mayor Donna McKay said once the number of hours worked in a 2 week period exceeds 96 hours, the chief will receive pay based on the hourly rate of pay.

In other business, the council:

Approved the police department Standard Operating Procedures manual.

Approved a $2000 donation to the Wadley High School Athletic Club.

Approved two Wadley High School Co-Op workers, up to three workers at $9.00 per hour.

Scheduled the next council meeting for Tuesday, September 5 at 5 pm.
