Randolph County Sheriff’s incident and arrest reports

Sheriff’s arrest for period ending on August 14th.

A resident of County Road 65, Roanoke, reported last Wednesday that a pack of dogs killed his family’s cat, climbed on his tractor, scratching the instrument panel and paint, and chased his cows, causing them to tear a fence down trying to get away. The citizen wanted to file a report and will speak with neighbors to try to find out more about the dogs.

Other incidents

A residence on Bob White Drive, Wedowee, was the location of a small structure fire on Saturday. The residents said following a lightning strike, there was a fire in their duct work and in the ceiling of the basement.

A Graham woman was scammed on Facebook when she attempted to buy a puppy by purchasing a prepaid card and sending a picture of it to the “seller.” Then the seller pressured her for more money, so she contacted law enforcement.

A resident of Woodland reported the theft of an Apple watch that was left at either Lakeside Grill in Wedowee or on a boat.

A resident of County Road 95, near Liberty Grove, reported that two suspects known to her took her silver 2020 Rav4 on Aug. 8 and have not returned it.

A wheelbarrow was reported stolen from Rock Springs Congregational Christian Church on County Road 815, Roanoke.

Criminal littering was reported on Bud Cummings Road, Roanoke.

On Friday a resident reported that an unknown person used her Social Security number. No money appears to have been taken at this time, and the matter is under investigation.

A landlord reported that a tenant at Riverbend Mobile Home Park on Pineywoods Drive, Wedowee, had their rent money stolen from a drop box.

John Corbin Whaley, 39, of Wedowee – failure to appear in court (possession of marijuana, three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of possession of a controlled substance) – Aug. 10

Larry Steven Falks, 52, of Wedowee – fraudulent use of a credit card and third-degree theft of property – Aug. 11

Andrew Nicholas Higgins, 32, of Woodland – failure to appear in court (child support) – Aug. 12
