Arrest and incident reports ending July 24
A resident reported to RCSO that about a year ago, he allowed a Woodland man to take home his red 16-foot 1995 Hooper cattle trailer loaded with 10 blue go-karts because the man was supposed to get the go-karts running so they could be sold. Five weeks ago, he went to talk to the man about the trailer and go-karts, and the man acted like he didn’t know what he was talking about. The cattle trailer was still there at that time. On July 18 he noticed the cattle trailer is now gone.
Martez Tremaine Hill, 26, of Center Point was arrested on July 24 and charged with first-degree theft in connection with the June 24 theft of a 2015 Hyundai Genesis. The seller of the Genesis said he met a “buyer” at DP Oil to sell the car to him. However, as the seller was verifying the form of payment, the suspect took off in the car.
A red and black Gibson electric guitar and camouflage crossbow were reported stolen from a residence on County Road 25 near Jordan’s Chapel.
Criminal littering was reported on County Road 442 in the Gold Ridge community.
While conducting a Community Corrections Program home visit on County Road 862 near Malone, an investigator discovered a homemade distillery for moonshine behind the house. The still looked as though it had not bee used in quite some time. It was taken as evidence.
Randolph County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a car fire on Saturday night on County Road 65 near Big Springs. Two other vehicles parked close to the burned Acura were also damaged.
On Sunday, the owner of a pole barn on County Road 110 at Graham reported that three male juveniles vandalized a Chevrolet Silverado truck and destroyed 240 jars of sunflower butter. Their parents and the juvenile probation officer were notified of the incident.
Randolph County Jail inmates Victor Emmanuel “Irish” Gurley, 31, and Zachery Dalton Noles, 26, both of Roanoke, were each charged with two counts of third-degree assault following the assault of two other inmates on Friday morning.
A resident of Banks Road near Roanoke reported the theft of a package from her porch on July 21.
On July 18, Roanoke Police Department assisted Randolph County Sheriff’s Department in the arrest of Joshua Mark Tucker, 35, of LaGrange, Ga. He was located behind a house in Rock Mills and charged with trafficking fentanyl, trafficking methamphetamine, possession of marijuana second-degree, possession of drug paraphernalia, attempting to elude, resisting arrest and several counts of failure to appear in court (unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana second-degree and possession of drug paraphernalia). Tucker also has warrants in Chambers County.
On July 18, Eufaula Police Department picked up Grady Lee Sims Jr., 31, of Wadley, and he was transported back to Randolph County, where he is charged with assault first-degree. Sims is accused of shooting a family member in the leg with a shotgun loaded with birdshot on June 27 at a residence on County Road 864 in the Level Road community.
A property owner on County Road 113 in the Dingler’s Chapel community reported finding three buckets with plants believed to be cannabis on his property. The man said he owns 47 acres and recently found riding trails there. When he went back to put up ‘No Trespassing’ signs, he found the plants.
It was discovered that someone had tampered with a Caterpillar track loader at the Randolph County Landfill near Wedowee.
Sometime between July 13 and 15, someone broke a window at the Woodland High School football field concession stand. No items appeared to be missing from the concession stand.
