Randolph County Sheriff’s incident and arrest reports

Ending July 17th

On the night of July 12, deputies in the area of County Roads 92 and 59 stopped to look for a suspect with an outstanding warrant, Cameron Williams. A suspect matching Williams’ description ran to a Dodge truck and took off down County Road 82 and onto County Road 59.

The deputies turned on their lights and attempted a traffic stop. The Dodge was going approximately 90 mph. It turned onto County Roads 97, 58, 500 and 499 before stopping behind a residence on County Road 4991. Then the suspect jumped out and ran into the woods. His truck was not put in park, and it rolled backward toward a deputy, who dodged it, but it hit the patrol vehicle, causing minor damage. Deputies searched the woods but were unable to find the driver.

The VIN number and tag to the truck indicate it was stolen from Arizona. The suspect the deputies were searching for is accused of having struck his wife with his vehicle the day before.

Two tortoises, a python and an iguana were reported stolen from a storage building on County Road 59, Roanoke, on July 10.

Theft of property was reported on July 11 by an individual attempting to buy trike roadsters and small motorcycles online.

Stanley Dewayne Weaver, 61, of Wedowee was arrested on July 13 and charged with possession of a forged instrument and first-degree theft of property. This is in connection with a forged bill of sale for a vehicle. Weaver is also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and bond revocation.

A resident reported that while they were out of state on July 15, their dog was staying with a family member on County Road 499, Woodland. The family member sent them photos of the dog that was dead with unusual wounds. Deputies went to the location and found the dog’s remains.

A resident reported on July 15 that he was awakened when a pack of about 10 dogs pinned his own dog up underneath his trailer on County Road 695, Roanoke. His dog was killed. He told deputies this pack has killed other dogs in the past.

A resident reported financial exploitation of the elderly second-degree, fraudulent use of a credit card and third-degree theft on July 16. A family member was using the credit card of a disabled senior citizen.
