Maudine Nelson Holloway Foster
(WOODLAND) Maudine Nelson Holloway Foster, of Woodland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at RMC in Anniston. She was born on May 8, 1937, the daughter of the late Larkin Hermit and Eula Maude McCain Nelson.
Maudine was a hairstylist and owner of Town and Country Beauty Salon in Wedowee for over 25 years. She was a member of Levens Baptist Church where she enjoyed serving as church hostess for years. She was a devoted and Christian mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family.
She was loved and will be greatly missed!
Mrs. Foster is survived by her two daughters, Vicki Sikes (Bill Montgomery) and Gina Mercer (Steve); son, Anthony Holloway; grandchildren, Allen Sikes (Terrie), Drew Mercer (Kala), and Allison Heard (Jamie); great-grandchildren, Nathan, Cody and Brandon Bradley, Taylor McCain (Hunter), Kenslee Herren, Cole and Presley Kate Mercer; great-great-grandchildren, Grayson, Meredith and Cadance McCain; sisters, Annie Lee Whaley and Peggy Lombardo (Pete), and a host of extended family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Foster; her first husband and father of her children, Hershell Holloway; brothers, Rudy Nelson and Doyle Nelson; and her nephews, Chris Whaley and Ben Nelson.
Pallbearers will be Allen Sikes, Drew Mercer, Brian Cross, Nathan Bradley, Pat Traylor, Randy Nelson and Rob Nelson. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Mercer, Cole Mercer, Bill Montgomery and Kenneth Whaley.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 14, at 2 pm in the chapel at Miller Funeral Home. Her grandson, Allen Sikes, will give the eulogy and the Rev. Kelly Runels will be officiating. A graveside service will follow the service at Levens Baptist Church located at 4514 Old Highway 431 Wedowee. The family will receive friends on the same day from 12 pm until the time of the service.
