Ronald Jay Frye

(ROANOKE) Funeral services for Ronald Jay “Ronnie” Frye, 67, of Roanoke were Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home of Ashland with Bro. Larry McDaniel officiating. Burial followed at Clay County Memory Gardens.

Mr. Frye was born in Clay County. He was an avid fisherman and a long-time member of the Roanoke Bass Hunters Club. He had many skills and had worked building chicken houses, was proud of his time working at R.L. Harris Dam, and also worked at Amoco Textile, security for Wellborn Cabinets and a jailor at the Randolph County Jail.

Mr. Frye is survived by his wife of 41 years, Billie H. Frye of Roanoke; his daughters, Gina Erwin (Evander) of Wadley and Jessica Rowe (Jason) of Jasper; his grandchildren, Caleb Wolf and Lexi Triplett; two great-grandsons and two great nieces; his brothers, Raye Frye (Brenda) of Roanoke and Tim Frye (Kelly) of Roanoke.

He is preceded in death by his parents Issac Jay Frye and Joyce Ann Walker Frye, plus his fur babies Callie and Sissy.

Active pallbearers were Evander Phillips, Caleb Wolf, Blake Harvel, Billy Thrasher, Mike Jones and Mike Owens.

Honorary pallbearer was Paul Caldwell.
