GoFundMe, the world’s largest crowdfunding platform, has named Jalen Drummond as its Director of Public Affairs. A proud Wedowee native, Drummond graduated from Randolph County High School and the University of Alabama.
Drummond will be responsible for leading the company’s communications efforts and spearheading the platform’s government relations strategy. He will join the company’s leadership team, reporting to and working closely with Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Margaret Richardson.

Prior to joining GoFundMe, Drummond served as a key spokesperson at Leidos and led external communications as well as integration activities for the Reston, VA based Fortune 500 company.Prior to joining the private sector, Drummond held several key roles in the Trump White House, serving as the Assistant White House Press Secretary and Associate Director of Communications. In these roles, Drummond briefed the White House press corps and managed rapid response communications for the COVID-19 pandemic, supreme court nominations, and high-profile congressional investigations.
Drummond began his career in the press office of U.S. Representative Mike Rogers (R-AL) and later served as a political aide to Secretary Ben Carson at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. He serves as an infantry rifleman in the United States Marine Corps Reserve and attends National Community Church in Washington, D.C.
