County Commission sets new voting locations

At Monday’s meeting of Randolph County Commission, the commission adopted two resolutions, establishing voting centers at two different locations. The first will be at Morrison Crossroads Fire Department. The new center will replace voting locations at Cedron and Caver’s Grove. The second will be at Foster’s Crossroads Fire Department and will combine voting locations at Swagg, Corinth and Wesley’s Chapel.

Fire association assistance

Under old business, the commission tabled a request for financial assistance from the county fire association. Legalities are still being worked out and a decision should be made at the next meeting.

In other business, the commission:

  • Announced the closure of the courthouse and annexes on Friday, April 7 for Good Friday.
  • Approved a resolution providing for the county’s participation in the Back to School sales tax holiday July 21-23.
  • Approved a request from Randolph County Water Authority to reappoint Hudson Hodges from District 4.
