Gene White

(ROANOKE) Funeral services for Gene White, 75, of Roanoke were Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Welcome Home Baptist Church with Bro. Randy Dunlap, Bro. Marty Dunlap and Bro. Ryan Conger officiating. Burial followed in the adjoining cemetery.

Mr. White passed away on Wednesday, March 15, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Ga.

Survivors include his wife, Jean White of Roanoke; five children, Brandon Cobb of Atlanta, Derek Cobb (Jessica) of Anniston, Celena Womack of Ellijay, Ga., Russell Womack of Dallas, Ga., and Landon White; four grandchildren, Breanda Davis (Daniel), Caroline Cobb, Jay Michael Cobb and Kendall Cobb; and one brother, Phillip White of Roanoke.

Pallbearers were Britt Dunlap, Levi Dunlap, Chris Dunlap, Daniel Davis, Chris Mauldin and Glenn Brown. Bill Cummings served as an honorary pallbearer.

A Randolph County native, Mr. White was born on Jan. 19, 1948, the son of Kara and Gladys Pauline White. He was Christian by faith and was a United States Air Force veteran and retired truck driver. Mr. White enjoyed camping with his family and loved his two fur babies and ice cream. He was preceded in death by his parents.
