Jimmy Robert McCain

(WOODLAND) Funeral services for Jimmy Robert McCain, 77, of Woodland, were held on Monday, March 13, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Dr. Mike Robinson and Rev. Danny Wadell officiating.

Mr. McCain passed away on Saturday, March 11, at Tanner Hospital in Carrollton, Ga.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine McCain; daughter, Shasta Jarrett (Chris); grandchildren, Jake Crowson and Owen Jarrett; a sister, Jean Chambers (Sanford); a sister-in-law, Anita McCain; and a brother-in-law, Danny Williamson.

Pallbearers were Brian Blazer, Michael Stewart, Daryl Hardin, Vinson Garrett, Josh Smith and Dwayne Satterwhite. Honorary pallbearers will be Russell Robinson, Tommy Camp and Ned Wright.

A Randolph County native, Mr. McCain was born on Oct. 6, 1945, the son of Fred McCain and Nina Simpson McCain. He was a member of First Baptist Church and had a long career in Education. He was a graduate of Nashville Auto Diesel School, received his Bachelor and Masters Degrees at Jacksonville State University, served as a board member on the Randolph County Board of Education, was a counselor and teacher at Randolph County High School, coached at Wadley High School, taught Psychology at Southern Union, was a member of Masonic Lodge #93, and worked as a Psychometrist until retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Wanda Williamson; and brother, Ricky McCain.
