Ernest Richard Hill

(JACKSONVILLE) Graveside services for Ernest Richard Hill, of Jacksonville, formerly of Rock Mills, were Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Randolph Memory Gardens with Bro. Kenneth Johnson, Richard Hill and Bro. Dave Haynes officiating.

Mr. Hill passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 31, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Sue Johnson Hill; daughter, Elizabeth Morrow (Fred) of Jacksonville; son, Richard Lee Hill (Erin) of Suffolk, Va.; and grandchildren, Richard Lee Hill, Jr., Kaitlyn Marion Hill, and Darin Joshua Hill.

Pallbearers were Richard Hill, Fred Morrow, David Dunker, Timothy Mote, Neal Smith, and Gregg Farrer.

Mr. Hill was born in Valley on July 25, 1941, the son of Ernest Pinkney and Sarah Allera McJunkin Hill. He was Baptist by faith and worked as a weaver for Amoco Mills. Mr. Hill is preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, David Hill.
