Chanda M. Carlisle

(ROANOKE) The Carlisle families of Roanoke and Opelika announce the passing of their mother, daughter, grandmother, and beloved sister, Ms. Chanda M. Carlisle, 42.

A native of Roanoke and a long-time resident of Opelika, Ms. Carlisle unexpectedly transitioned from this life on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.

Chanda was born in Roanoke, on Sept. 8, 1980, to the parentage of the late Sylvester Carlisle and Mrs. Vanessa Allen Carlisle. She received her early spiritual guidance at Rock Mills Baptist Church in Roanoke. Chanda also attended school in Roanoke.

For the past five years, Chanda worked as a nurse Assistant at Roanoke Health Care Center.

Among the angelic host of pre-deceased loved ones ushering her to her eternal home were: her father, Sylvester Carlisle; and husband,Travis Hambrick, Sr.; and other loved ones who — no doubt, welcomed her with open arms.

Chanda is survived by her mother, Vanessa Allen Carlisle of Roanoke; two sons: Travis Hambrick, Jr., of Auburn, and Tylik Hambrick of Opelika; a grandson, Malik Hambrick of Auburn; brothers: Shawn Carlisle of Opelika, and Torrey Carlisle of Roanoke; and a number of other loving relatives and friends.
