Wanda Edwards

(NEWELL) Funeral services for Wanda Edwards, 76, of Newell will be held on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Heflin with Bro. Randy Morris officiating. Burial will follow at the adjoining cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28.

Mrs. Edwards passed away on Monday, Dec. 26, 2022, in Columbus, Ga.

Survivors include her husband, Lawrence Edwards; sons, Clifton Edwards (April) and Randal McLeod (Veronica) both of Newell; grandchildren, Seth Edwards (Brittany) of Birmingham, Essie Gober of Riverside, Nikki McLeod and Jacob McLeod (Morgan Frank) of Newell; sisters, Edna Israel (John) of Birmingham, and Lura Hyatt (Bruce) of Ranburne.

Pallbearers will be Wendell Shelton, Dustin Shelton, Phillip Roberts, Travis Loftin, Phillip Edwards and Greg Edwards.

Mrs. Edwards was born in Cleburne County on Sept. 27, 1946. She is the daughter of Fred and Mildred Morrison Riddle. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Stan Edwards; and baby brother.
