Sarah L. Richardson

(WOODLAND) Funeral services for Sarah L. Richardson, 87, of Woodland will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2022, at 1 p.m. at East Napoleon Church of Christ, with Alan Daniel and Donald Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Mrs. Richardson passed away on Sunday, Dec. 18, at her residence.

Survivors include her husband, Roman Richardson; daughter, Sandra Edwards (Barry) of Woodland; sons, Rodney Richardson (Sheri) and Roman Tommy Richardson (Kimberly) of Woodland, and Jeff Richardson (Amy) of Roanoke; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Ida Bell Bowen of Woodland, and Shirley Elder of North Carolina; and brother, Otis Bowen Jr. of Wedowee.

Pallbearers will be Roman Richardson II, Josh Richardson, Jacob Richardson, Billy Thrasher, Chase Adamson, and Nick Potts. Honorary pallbearers will be Trevor Richardson, Matt Murphy, and Mike Kirby.

Mrs. Richardson was born in Roanoke on Dec. 17, 1935. She is the daughter of Otis William Bowen Sr. and Betty Lou Scott Bowen. Mrs. Richardson was a member of East Napoleon Church of Christ and worked as a sewing inspector for Fashion Star. She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Gregory Michael Richardson.
