County school board approves personnel actions

In a called meeting of Randolph County School Board last week, the board approved a large number of personnel actions to fill vacancies in the county schools. The board approved the following actions:

  • Accept the resignation of Kayla Weathers, nurse at Wedowee Elementary/Middle schools effective November 11.
  • Accept the resignation, due to retirement, of Andy Bailey, bus driver at Woodland effective December 1.
  • The transfer of Kandi Smith from Kindergarten Teacher at Wedowee Elementary School to Kindergarten teacher at Woodland Elementary, effective January 4, 2023.
  • The transfer of Mel Richardson, Itinerant Reading Specialist at Wadley to full time Reading Specialist at Rock Mills Jr. High effective January 4, 2023.
  • Andrew Bailey as bus driver at Woodland School effective December 1.
  • Misty Rochester as ARI Reading Specialist/Coach at Wadley High School effective January 4, 2023.
  • Megan Earl as Kindergarten Teacher at WES effective January 4, 2023 or upon her release from her current position.
  • Hannah Ferrell as Special Education Teacher at Wadley High School effective January 4, 2023 or upon her release from her current position.
  • Rebecca Aderhold as Pre-K Teacher at Wadley School effective January 4, 2023 pending completion of certification requirement.
  • The contract with Kayla Weathers to provide RN nursing services at the rate of $140/school day and $70/half day.
  • The contract with Jasilynn Kelly to provide RN nursing services at the rate of  $140/school day and $70/half day.
  • Substitute teachers Kathy Fetner, Betsi Marie Strain, Carrie Huffman-Faas and Brittany Johnson.
  • Substitute support personnel Kathy Fetner, Brittany Johnson and Carrie Huffman-Faas.

In other business, the board approved the salary schedule for the new network specialist position.
