Thefts:
An 18” Husquvama chainsaw bar was reported stolen off of one of the fire trucks at the Tin Shop Volunteer Fire Department of Roanoke on Nov. 16. It was reported that other items have gone missing recently and actions will be taken to catch whoever is stealing the items.
A resident of County Rd. 249 Wedowee, reported that a T-shirt was stolen out of a package in her mailbox on Nov. 15. The resident reported that her package was torn open and the T-shirt was missing but the package was left in the mailbox. The suspect is unknown.
On Nov. 18 a resident of Louina Rd. reported that his house had been broken into and his Dachshund dog was missing. The resident reported that the door to the residence was damaged along with a hasp that was attached to the door.
A person reported that a check made out and mailed to Wedowee Building Supply to pay a bill was stolen. The person reported that the check was placed in the mailbox but Wedowee Building Supply never received the check although the check was cleared on Oct. 13, 2022. It is unknown where the check was cashed at.
A New Holland C337 (skid steer), a 5ft Bradco low flow brush cutter, a set of fork lift forks and a 20ft trailer with missing fenders were reported stolen from Big Boy’s ATV in Roanoke on Nov. 18. It was reported that these items were on the trailer which was parked beside the building. It was also reported that the New Holland C337 was $63,000 when purchased new.
An 8ft trailer was reported stolen from a residence on County Rd. 867 on Nov. 20. It was reported that the trailer was last seen Nov. 3rd and was about a year brand new. A lock was reported broken off the trailer hitch when it was stolen.
Incidents
The slide of a 1911 handgun was reportedly found near the second bridge on Old Hwy 431 about 30 ft from the shoreline on Nov. 19. The 1911 slide was turned over to a deputy who tried without success to find a serial number or make and model. The 1911 slide will be entered into evidence.
