William Andrew Green

(WEDOWEE) William Andrew Green, 92, a life-long resident of Wedowee died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022, at his residence.

William was born on Jan. 28, 1930, to the parentage of Carl and Annie Houston Green. In his formative years, William attended school at Cornhouse Creek. He worked in construction and logging for 20-plus years. He was a prosperous farmer. In addition, William was one with nature; his hobbies included hunting and fishing. William was a man of faith and family. He married the love of his life Fannie P. Green in 1952, and they were united together for 63 years until her death. He was a member of Zion Rest Baptist Church in Wedowee.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Fannie P. Green; four brothers, James I. Green, Virgil Green, Fred Green and John Robert Green; and one sister, Carrie Bailey. He leaves cherished memories with two devoted sons, Tony Green (Nancy) and Calvin L. White Sr. (Joyce), both of Wedowee; three loving sisters, Agnes Minnifield, and Emma I. Ware, both of Wedowee; and Naconia Robinson of Cincinnati, Ohio. Fond memories are left to be shared with his 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
