James Edward Floyd

(WOODLAND) The funeral for James Edward Floyd, 80, of Woodland will be Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Keith Runels and Rev. David Daniel officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday.

Mr. Floyd passed away Saturday, Oct. 29, at Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica, Ga.

A Woodland native, Mr. Floyd was born Dec. 1, 1941, the son of James Lewis and Francis Noles Floyd. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church and retired as a superintendent for Randolph County Commission.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Jean Floyd of Woodland; son, Benny Floyd of Woodland; two grandchildren, Nicole Wiggins (Paul) and Chelsey Johnson; four great-grandchildren, Eli Wiggins, Gage Wiggins, Brayden Johnson and Hydeigh Johnson; sister, Mary Jane Holloway (Buddy) of Woodland; and brother, John Z. Floyd (Sue) of Peachtree City, Ga. Mr. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents and son, Kenny Zac Floyd.

Pallbearers will be Scott Floyd, John Floyd, Wes Woodard, Chris Nolen, William Davenport and Jimmy Pope.
