Randolph and Chambers County Sheriff’s report

Randolph County

Barfield Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire that destroyed a storage shed on Monday at around 11 a.m.

According to the report from Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, a neighbor reported the shed being on fire on County Road 219 in the Fuller’s Crossroads area. Nearby woods were also ablaze. A new tenant has just moved into a mobile home further into the woodline there.

The mobile home’s owner, Joshua McClenton, told responders he had just moved out and rented the mobile home to another man. The fire also damaged second neighbor’s mobile home and truck.

There was no electricity to the shed, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Thefts

Weigel’s Country Corner at Morrison Crossroads reported the theft of cigarettes on Sept. 27.

A backpack blower was reported stolen on Sept. 29 from a residence on Jessica Drive, Wedowee.

A samurai sword and purse with cash were reported stolen on Sept. 29 from a residence on County Road 19 in the Pinetucky area.

Other incidents

A black and white dog was found on Sept. 28 at an abandoned house on County Road 67 in the Hobson area without food or water.
