Marilyn Williams Knight

(WEDOWEE) The funeral for Marilyn Williams Knight, 75, of Wedowee will be Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, at 3 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. Henry Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Stephens Mission Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday.

Mrs. Knight passed away Saturday, Sept. 24, in Sylacauga.

Mrs. Knight was born in Talladega on March 6, 1947. She is the daughter of the late John Williams Sr. and Adella J. O’Neal. Mrs. Knight was a member of Weathers Height Church of Christ and worked at Lamar Manufacturing and later retired from Wellborn Cabinet Company.

Survivors include her sons, John A. Hopson (Saskia) of Sheffield, England, Theodore Hopson III of Wedowee, Michael E. Hopson (Andrea) of Sylacauga, Richard Eric Hopson (Amy) of Kempner, Texas, Robert V. Hopson (Sheretta) of Fairburn, Ga., and Herschel W. Walker of Ashland; two stepdaughters; honorary son, Derrick Herring (Cenessa) of Lineville; siblings, John Williams Jr. and Stanley Williams, both of Wedowee, Danny Williams (Minnie) of Lanett, Demetrius O’Neal (Margaret) of Spokane, Wash., Sherwood O’Neal of Cleveland, Ohio, Christopher O’Neal (Wyvetta) of Opelika, Connie Radford (Ron) of Roanoke, Weltha Trumer of Douglasville, Ga., Robert O’Neal Jr. (Aja) of Matteson, Ill., Deborah Williams of Alpine and Zabrina Zwebber (John) of Minneapolis; 27 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; and host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Williams Knight; brother, Paul Williams; and stepfather, Robert O’Neal.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews.
