Julian VanClyde Henderson

(PLEASANT GROVE) Julian VanClyde Henderson, 47, of Pleasant Grove passed away Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

Viewing will be Wednesday, Sept. 7, from 1 to 6 p.m. at Clark Memorial Funeral Service.

A graveside service will be Thursday, Sept. 8, at 11:30 a.m. at Skyview Memorial Gardens in the Welch community.

Clyde was born July 2, 1975, in Roanoke. He graduated from Handley High School in 1993 and served his country in the U.S. Navy for five years. Clyde worked as an OTR driver for U.S. Xpress Enterprises trucking company. He obtained his trucking and CDL certification from C.R. England Inc. of Salt Lake City, Utah. Clyde was infatuated with classic cars and fully restored a 1974 Cadillac. Other hobbies included participating in swap meets, walking in junkyards and watching car shows.

Clyde is survived by his father, Mark Phillips (Kelley); mother, Angelia Henderson of Decatur, Ga.; grandmother, Audrey Phillips Owens of Roanoke; sister, Marquita Phillips Calloway (Michael) of Roanoke; two brothers, Mark Phillips Jr. of Birmingham and Marquinton Phillips (Shevon) of Marietta, Ga.; nieces and nephews, Emerald Phillips, Sydney Render, Pierre Phillips and D.J. Phillips; and extended host of friends.
