(CRAGFORD) A graveside service for Mary Lou McCain, 96, of Cragford will be Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Donald Spradlin officiating.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 6, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville.
Mrs. McCain passed away Saturday, Sept. 3.
Mrs. McCain was a lifelong resident of Clay County and a 1945 graduate of Cragford High School. She worked for Clegg Manufacturing and Higgins Manufacturing for about 20 years as a seamstress. Once she left work, she became a stay-at-home wife and mother. Playing the piano was her passion. She played piano at Victory and Shiloh Baptist churches in Lineville, and when asked to assist at events, she was always willing to help. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and loved God, her family and everyone she met. She is survived by her son, Scooter McCain (Debra) of Ashland; two grandchildren, Ricky McCain of Cragford and Kristen Chitwood of Carrolton, Ga.; three great-grandchildren, Josh Waldrop of Phenix City and Shae McCain and Kandili McCain, both of Cragford; and other family. She was preceded in death by her parents, G.O. and Eula Farrow Miller; husband, James Byron McCain; and two sisters, Paulene Miller and I.B. Miller.
Pallbearers will be Josh Waldrop, Scott Hanna, Junior Parker, Chris Parker, Adam Clark and Eric Heath.
