New ambulance service placed on probation

WEDOWEE – At a meeting of Randolph County 911 Board last week, the new ambulance service in Randolph County, Lifeline EMS, addressed the board concerning being placed on rotation for emergency calls.

The board voted to place the new service on a 90-day probationary period during which the service will not be the first EMS service notified for any 911 call. Lifeline will be called only in the event that both existing services are busy on a call. An additional request was to be dispatched on every third call, but this was not granted.

The 911 board will reevaluate the service at the end of the 90-day probation.
