Florene Weathers

(ROANOKE) The funeral for Florene Weathers, 84, of Woodland will be held Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Benefield Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Adam Mangram officiating. Burial will follow at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday before services begin.

Mrs. Weathers passed away Wednesday, June 22, at Majestic Senior Living in Bowdon, Ga.

A Roanoke native, Mrs. Weathers was born on January 6, 1938, the daughter of Floyd Lee and Burdie Butler Ussery. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and was a housewife.

Survivors include her daughter, Winette Rochester (Ricky) of Woodland; son, Keith Weathers (Sherri) of Woodland; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Eleanor Taylor of Wedowee; and two brothers, Wayne Ussery of Roanoke and Carey Ussery of Dahlonega, Ga. Mrs. Weathers was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John D. Weathers; and sister, Ann Brown.

Pallbearers will be John Rochester, Joedy Rochester, Radney Brown, Doug Brown, Jeff Brown, Ryder Rochester and Cooper Rochester.
