Roanoke and Wedowee incident reports
A Roanoke man was arrested on Tuesday night of last week after allegedly striking another man with his vehicle.
According to the report, two women told officers they saw the suspect, Kevin Maurice Thompson, 46, of 722 Central Ave., strike a man with his white Cadillac SUV in the roadway on Mulberry Street in the mill village near the washeteria. The incident flipped the victim into the air and onto the pavement as Thompson sped away.
The victim, Zi’Navious Turner, had earlier tried to intervene in a physical altercation between Thompson and another female. Turner was asked to return to the scene and he did, where he was checked by EMTs. They transported him to Tanner-East Alabama Medical Center.
Thompson was located and charged with first-degree assault with a deadly weapon (the vehicle).
