Chambers and Randolph County Sheriff’s incident and arrest report

Two Wedowee men were arrested on Sunday after leading deputies on a chase while on a motorcycle.
According to the report from Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, the driver of the motorcycle was Jacob Lee Thackston, 28, of 27 Pineywoods Dr. When a deputy tried to stop Thackston for speeding, he would not stop. While making a right turn, he lost control of the bike and laid it down in a ditch.
The rear passenger, Jacorey Martez Knight, 28, attempted to flee the scene of the accident on foot. When deputies caught up with him, he told them it was because he knew he had warrants.
Thackston, who was treated at released from Tanner-East Alabama Medical Center, is charged with attempting to elude law enforcement.
Knight is charged with attempting to elude law enforcement, probation revocation and four counts of failure to appear in court (first-degree theft, third-degree burglary, second-degree theft and unauthorized use of a vehicle).

Incidents
Someone broke into a house through a window on June 11 on County Road 59 near Taylor’s Crossroads.
An employee of Dollar General reported that a shoplifter took a black trashcan with merchandise inside it on June 5. That same shoplifter apparently hit the Dollar General in Bowdon, Ga., as well.
