Alden Lee Hunt

(ROANOKE) The funeral for Alden Lee Hunt, 83, of Roanoke will be Friday, June 10, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Rocky Branch Baptist Church with Bro. Matt Browning officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church from noon to 2 p.m. before services begin.

Mr. Hunt passed away Wednesday, June 8, at Tanner-East Alabama Medical Center in Wedowee.

A Pennsylvania native, Mr. Hunt was born Feb. 15, 1939, the son of Alden G. and Wanda M. Seuger Hunt. He worked as a mechanic for America West Airlines before retiring and was a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Hunt of Roanoke; two sons, Chris Hunt (Julie) of Newnan, Ga., and Thomas Haynes (Amelia) of Roanoke; daughter, Tammy Rhea Sims (Tommy) of LaFayette; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and sister, Linda Larrick of Pleasant Valley, N.Y. Mr. Hunt was preceded in death by his parents; son, Rob Hunt; and stepdaughter, Rhonda Neff.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Haynes, Tommy Sims, Tommy Haynes, Chris Haynes, Ricky Neff, Tyler Watts and Ryan Neff.
