Roanoke man dies in house fire
A house fire claimed the life of a Roanoke man early Friday morning.
According to the report from Roanoke Police Department, Jimmy Lynn Watson, 50, was found by responders unresponsive in the front room of the home at 723 West Ave. in Roanoke’s mill village.
A neighbor reported the fire at approximately 3:11 a.m. When firefighters and police arrived, the home was already engulfed.
Watson’s wife, Sandra, was not at home at the time of the fire.
In addition to Roanoke police and firefighters, Emergency Medical Transport, the coroner and the fire marshal also responded.
