Randolph County Board of Education addresses personnel changes

WEDOWEE – Randolph County Board of Education took care of a myriad of personnel decisions during a special called meeting on Monday evening.

Following an executive session of more than an hour, the board members removed some items from their personnel action sheet. They were split in their decisions on several of the items.

The board:

 Accepted the resignation due to retirement of Kathy Hubbard, lunchroom worker at Woodland, effective Aug. 1.

Accepted the resignations of:

  • Dena Arrington, elementary teacher at Woodland, effective May 26.
  • Katie Dye, media specialist/interventionist teacher at Rock Mills Junior High School, effective May 26.
  • Elizabeth Dunham, elementary teacher at Rock Mills, effective May 26.

Approved the non-renewal of the following certified teaching positions effective the last day of school:

  • Amy Minter, Wedowee Elementary School
  • Paige Meadows – Wedowee Elementary
  • Lisa Fulford – Wedowee Elementary
  • Teresa Hamlin – Randolph-Roanoke Career Technology Center
  • Melody Holden – Wadley High School
  • Vicki Jacks – Rock Mills

Approved the non-renewal of the following support staff positions, effective the last day of the school year:

  • ¬†Rebecca Aderholt, paraprofessional, Wedowee Elementary
  • Chasity Marable, auxiliary/adjunct teacher, Wedowee Elementary
  • Mary Turner, auxiliary/adjunct teacher, Wedowee Elementary
  • Hannah Prestridge, paraprofessional, Wedowee Middle School
  • Katherine Sikes, multi-disability paraprofessional, WMS
  • Matthew Findley, paraprofessional, Randolph County High School
  • Shabria Swanson, paraprofessional, Wadley
  • Taylor Jones, paraprofessional, Woodland Elementary
  • Lamonyun Burney, paraprofessional, Woodland Elementary
  • Colton McCain, paraprofessional, Woodland High School
  • Approved the TEAMS one-year preliminary contract for Katie Dye, math teacher at RCHS, effective July 1.
  • Approved the transfer of Lisa Whelan from elementary teacher at Wadley to fourth-grade teacher at WMS, effective with the next school year.
  • Approved Bethany Johnson as counselor at Woodland High, effective with the new school year.
