Thefts
McManus Welding reported on May 16 that someone forged a check on the company for $2,450.
A white Dodge truck and scrap metal were stolen from County Road 66 in the Caver’s Grove community on May 16.
A break-in was reported on May 10 on County Road 18, east of Roanoke.
A Wedowee resident reported on May 9 that someone was supposed to watch her Chihuahua puppy while she was in jail. She is now out of jail, but he will not give her puppy back.
Reaves Grocery of Woodland reported a gas drive-off on May 16.
Fire
A fire on May 10 at 3:47 a.m. destroyed a dilapidated trailer at 10 County Rd. 20 in the Lime community. The owner, Kenneth James Burke of Roanoke, said there was no gas or power connected.
Other incidents
A resident reported that on May 12 he was driving on County Road 82 near Foster’s Crossroads when a car came up behind him, tailgated and pulled up beside him. The driver shouted and pointed a gun at him. The complainant believed the driver shot because he heard a noise. The complainant said he in turn fired at the suspect’s vehicle.
A resident of County Road 56 near Napoleon reported that for the past eight weeks, dogs have come onto his property and hurt his cattle and that of his neighbor. On May 11 he reported that the night before they had killed a calf and litter of kittens. He saw two Huskies, one with a broken chain, leaving the barn.
