Arrest and incident report for April 18th – 25th. All persons charged are innocent until proven guilty in a count of law.

Arrests

Randall Lee Hand, 39, of 6899 County Rd. 16, Roanoke – failure to appear in court (resisting arrest and driving with license revoked) – April 24

Christopher Mark Forehand, 35, of Lanett – failure to appear in court (driving with license revoked) – April 22

Paul Johnson, 51, of 2715 County Rd. 30, Roanoke – failure to appear in court (giving false information to law enforcement) – April 21

Jennifer Jenean Turner, 39, of 14870 County Rd. 65, Roanoke – Community Corrections Program violation – April 21

Casey Lee Smith, 28, of Anniston – hold for another agency – April 20

Laden Dekeyes Terrell, 20, of 10717 County Rd. 92, Newell – unlawful use of a vehicle, first-degree theft of property, illegal use of a credit card and three counts of probation revocation – April 20

Grand jury indictment

Jason Scott Hardegree, 39, of Newnan, Ga. – first-degree domestic violence, reckless endangerment, first-degree unlawful imprisonment and attempted murder – April 20

Thefts

Lovvorn Fabrication on Highway 48, Woodland, reported the theft of a camper on April 19.

A Bobcat skid steer stolen in Carroll County, Ga., was recovered on April 23 on County Road 525 at Newell.

A Wedowee resident reported on April 25 that he had loaned a woman his 2000 Chevrolet Silverado back in November to help her out and she refuses to return it. The vehicle has now been listed as stolen.

Incident reports

Cruelty to animals was reported on April 18 on U.S. 431 near Rock Stand. According to the report, a dog was chained to a run without food and showed signs of malnutrition. The elderly resident was recently adjudicated as being unable to take care of himself.

Residents of Old Highway 431 near Levens Chapel reported that their neighbor knocks down their “no trespassing” signs, tears up their lawn with his tractor, cuts down trees and leaves them laying across their property and blocks the shared driveway.

On April 22 it was reported that there is a residence on County Road 695 near Rock Stand where a large number of dogs run loose. Some appear healthy and some do not. Two dogs were lying dead in the road, possibly hit by vehicles. A deputy could not approach the residence because of the dogs. He tried using his PA system on his patrol vehicle, but no one at the residence responded.

A property owner on County Road 26 in the Level Road community reported on April 23 that a storage building had been burned by a brush fire.

The driver of a Mazda truck driving along U.S. 431 on April 24 began having trouble with the vehicle and pulled into Cantrell’s. The truck began smoking and then caught fire, burning the motor and wiring.
