Roanoke and Wedowee police incident report

A Valley man was arrested in the early morning hours of April 3 after leading Roanoke Police on a brief chase.

Justin Eugene Hill, 36, would not stop for officers at a safety checkpoint on Main Street but accelerated down the street, sometimes on the wrong side of the road. He went through the parking lot of The Chuckwagon Steakhouse and onto Highway 22, where he turned his headlights off. Hill then hit a guardrail and turned his lights back on. He was on both sides of the road and losing his tires in the road. The tires hit a passing car and a patrol unit. When Hill tried to turn onto County Road 3, he ran off into a field and hit a ditch and small creek. He then jumped out of the vehicle and ran toward the wood line, where he was taken into custody.

Hill was taken to the emergency room at Tanner-East Alabama Medical Center, where he was treated for an injury to his arm.

He is charged with attempting to elude law enforcement
