Truman Bassett

(NEWNAN, Ga.) Truman Bassett, born Aug. 18, 1935, in Randolph County, Ala., passed away March 11, 2022, in Newnan, Ga.

The family will receive friends Sunday, March 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. EDT at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St., Newnan. The graveside service will be Sunday, March 13, at 4 p.m. CT in Randolph Memory Gardens in Roanoke.

Truman honorably served his country in the army from 1957 to 1960. He worked for many years in the building materials field before retiring. Truman loved his family deeply. The family is at peace knowing he is now with our Lord and Savior.

He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Ellen Kirby Bassett; daughter, Karen Bassett; son, Rick Bassett; daughter-in-law, Michelle “Mickie” Bassett; granddaughter, Kaycee Landrum; grandson-in-law, Austin Landrum; great-granddaughter, Kamzie Mae Landrum; brother, Fred A. “Pete” Bassett, along with many other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred W. and Gladys Bassett.
