From time to time the Leader will spotlight some of the standout performances on the diamond in both baseball and softball with our “Stars of the Night.”
Friday’s brightest star, without question, was Handley third baseman Garrett Calhoun, who unloaded on Ranburne in the Tigers’ 14-7 victory over the Bulldogs in Ranburne.
Calhoun went 3-for-3 with two home runs, five RBI and three runs scored. He hit a solo home run in the first, had an RBI single in the second, drove home another run with a sacrifice fly to deep center in the fourth, then cranked a two-run home run in the sixth before walking and coming around to score in the seventh.
