Welcome, Baby New Year!

Randolph County’s Baby New Year 2022 is Emberlyn Grae Mitchell, who was born New Year’s Day at 7:24 p.m. at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika. Emberlyn is the daughter of Heidi Hand and Hunter Mitchell of Roanoke. She was welcomed home by big brother, Axton Hand, 6. At birth, she weighed 7 pounds, 12 ounces and was 20 inches long.

Grandparents are Jeff and Stacy Hand, Rodney and Teresa Knott and the late Michael Mitchell, all of Roanoke. Great-grandparents are Gail Heard and Ricky Harmon, both of Roanoke, and Ruth Darden of LaGrange, Ga.
