(SMITHS STATION) Funeral services for Janice Elaine Clack Barnes, 77, of Smiths Station will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Paul Clements, Bro. Frank Barnes Jr. and Bro. Steven Barnes officiating. Burial to follow in Randolph Memory Gardens, Roanoke.

Mrs. Barnes died Sunday, Sept. 30, at her home.

Mrs. Barnes was born Feb. 9, 1935, the daughter of William Brian and Eura Wilson Clack. Mrs. Barnes was of the Church of Christ faith and had been a compositor for the Opelika-Auburn News.

Mrs. Barnes is survived by two daughters, Elaine Barnes Cooper of Opelika and Sheryl Barnes Coleman of Pittsview; two sons, Frank E. Barnes Jr. of Pine Mountain, Ga., and Steven Patrick Barnes of Phenix City; one sister, Sarah Jean Satterwhite of Roanoke; one brother, Charles Manley Clack of Roanoke; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Frank Edward "Bud" Barnes Sr.; parents; and one brother, Thomas Bryan Clack.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at www.quattlebaumfuneralhome.com.

Pallbearers will be David Satterwhite, Kenneth Coleman, Phillip McCarley, Charles Clack, Danny Cooper and Patrick Barnes.
