ROCK STAND--An Ohatchee man died as the result of injuries sustained in a one-vehicle accident on Monday north of Rock Stand on U.S. 431.

According to the report from the Jacksonville post of the Troopers, Ralph Amos Thomas, 79, was the driver of a 2002 Toyota Tacoma truck. The accident happened at 3:28 a.m.

According to a member of Rock Stand Volunteer Fire Department that responded to the accident, Thomas's truck flipped and had to be uprighted before the firefighters could use the Jaws of Life to extricate him. He was transported by Lifeflight helicopter to Columbus Medical Center.
